Hot Topics in Education Forum: Mental Health

On Sept. 26th, 2022, I attended the Teaching Fellows Forum for 4th year students. At this event, we had an open discussion about some Hot Topics in education and then split up into small groups to prepare a presentation about one of these hot topics. My group chose to present on Mental Health, but other topics chosen were Social-Emotional Learning, Teacher Qualifications, and Standardized Testing. Listening to the other groups’ presentations was very educational, but I also learned a lot about my group’s topic - Mental Health - from the discussion we had and the research we did on the topic. I included a picture below of some of the ways we, as teachers and leaders in education, can help combat mental health issues in schools.
